"Machine of Life" is a collection built unconventionally, it is a wreath of stories. Fourteen of them are as many as the sonnets in the wreath, and in the same way they pass the baton to each other: each subsequent story begins exactly as the previous one ended. And this is justified - because the whole book about Kyiv, the Eternal City, a continuous and sometimes unexpected story about its very different people and unique atmosphere.
Well-known writer Maryna Hrymych said about The Machine of Life as follows: “The author writes not about the heroes of our time, but about the average Kyivan. There are a lot of us in this book and about us. Because, as it sounds in one of the dialogues of the collection: "all new Kyivans enter Kyiv through the Golden Gate. - And how do they come out? - And they don't come out! Here we all stay. Forever."
