A reprint of Konstantin Simonov's poetry collection, published in Tashkent in 1942 in a limited edition of 10,000 copies, almost all of which have survived to this day. This small book, sized for a tunic pocket, became a talisman for soldiers heading off to the front. This first reprint since the Great Patriotic War, marking the 110th anniversary of the author's birth, concludes with an afterword by his son, the renowned Russian director, translator, and publicist A.K. Simonov.
