The monograph, based on a wide range of archival sources and scientific literature, for the first time in Ukrainian historiography comprehensively describes the activities of Lviv University in the late XVIII - early XX centuries. Particular emphasis was placed on the organizational changes that took place in the institution of higher education at this time, the specifics of the educational and scientific process, phenomena and processes that reflect the situation in the national sphere. The coverage of these aspects was carried out, in particular, through the prism of the analysis of the teaching staff of the University and educational and scientific areas that were formed and developed in it during the study period.
