Anatoliy Dimarov (1922 - 2014) wrote his memoirs during the time of independent Ukraine, when, according to him, "there was no longer censorship and no one dismembered me." This is an important detail, because the vast majority of his works date from the terrible years of the ban on the truth. In his memoirs, the writer notes that they came out with numerous bills and it was possible to reissue them completely only in their own state. In general, this monologue of memory contained all extraordinary events in the history of Ukraine of the 20th century, which the author experienced personally. He tells the reader how they appeared to him then and now, without any excuses he talks about his mistakes and frankly about his surroundings. He does not ignore comic episodes, which were also not lacking in his life. Anatoliy Dimarov wanted his books to make people forget about troubles, to feel a little relieved from what they read, to "laugh with me and complain." The reader has such an opportunity.
