The study includes anthroponyms and oikonyms of the Christian population in Western Thrace and Southern Rhodopes during the 16th century (region of Xanthi in Greece and Zlatograd and the southern regions of Smolyan in Bulgaria). The material was excerpted from Ottoman tax registers dating from the middle of the century.
