Archbishop Luka Voyno-Yasenetsky (1877-1961) was an outstanding surgeon, the founder of purulent surgery, a spiritual writer, a bishop of Russian Orthodox Church, and an archbishop of Simferopol and of the Crimea since May 1946. He was a laureate of the Stalin Prize in medicine in 1946.
