For the first time in the Republic of Belarus, the authors of the book have collected information about people awarded the title of honorary citizens of Belarusian cities from 1964 to the present (more than 1,000 people). These are the sons and daughters of the Belarusian people and the fraternal peoples of the Soviet Union. Among them, about 80% of people are participants in the Great Patriotic War, as well as those who restored the destroyed national economy of the BSSR in the postwar years. The people represented in the book are Heroes of the Soviet Union and Heroes of Socialist Labor, scientists and writers, artists and artists, athletes and builders, doctors and teachers, ordinary workers and collective farmers. Their activities and merits can be called a lifelong feat.
