Hnat Hotkevich (pseudonym - Hnat Halaida, 1877–1938) is a Ukrainian writer, historian, bandurist, composer, art critic. A victim of Stalinist terror. His cycle of stories "Life analogies" has chapters, each of which consists of "zoomorphic" and "anthropomorphic" parts. "Zoomorphic" sets the tone, general images and issues and in its manner resembles a parable based on the life of animals. "Anthropomorphic" is a reflection of the first situation, but transferred to the plane of human problems and characters, the essence of human existence.
