The deluxe book presents dozens of letters from renowned Bulgarian poet Pencho Slaveikov (1866-1912) to his romantic partner, poetess Mara Belcheva. The letters span the period from 1903 to 1911, ending just before Slaveikov's death. It was in those years that the poet was at his most prolific. Shortly before he passed away, he was proposed by Swedish professor Al. Jensen for the Nobel Prize in Literature. This edition preserves Slaveikov's authentic language, with some minor grammatical changes. Passages and sentences which were missing from some of the letters in two earlier editions are now added as footnotes. Extra correspondence is given at the end of the book to furnish more details about some periods and events.
