The monograph deals with the need for a critical rethinking of numerous stereotypes in the perception of Lesia Ukrainka's creative work. The use of effective modern methods (deconstruction, psychoanalysis, formalism, etc.) allows you to see the texts of the classics of Ukrainian literature without the prejudices peculiar to scholars of many generations. Special attention is paid to the psychoanalytical reading of a number of dramatic texts by Lesia Ukrainka, proving the thesis that she is the author of a new symbolist drama, inscribed in the context of the European symbolism and at the same time unique in terms of genre parameters.
