In 1944, in summer, Latvian Government published the decree calling the young Lettish people for the subsidiary service of the Air Forces. The teenagers at the age of 15-17 were called out in the air-raid defence. Fulfiling their duties these teenagers died on the fronts, in the field hospitals. Many of them were rewarded with the German Iron Cross. Stories of the survived people are presented in this book.
