Second revised, corrected edition. Juris Cibuls is the author or co-author of many books. In 2015, he received the "Bonuks 2014" award of the year of Latgalian culture in the nomination "Best publication/book" for "Purlova's book" (Riga, Raudava, 2014). He has published around 500 articles in Latvian, Latgalian, Russian, English and French in various newspapers and collections. Collected around 10,290 alphabets from 223 countries in 1183 languages. The collection has been exhibited around 220 times in Latvian museums, schools, libraries, clubs, as well as several times abroad. The first edition of the Latgalian alphabet reached readers in 2009. Also in this edition, the author gives an insight into the long and complicated path of development that the Latgalian alphabet has taken over the course of several centuries. It introduces various types of alphabets, describing the principles of their composition and illustration.
