The monograph raises a set of conceptual, methodological and instrumental issues concerning the place, role and potential impact on the development of productive forces of large territories of two key infrastructures with the highest level of systemic organization. The studies were conducted in relation to the regions of the Greater Urals, considered as a middle macroregion. It is in macroterritories of this type that the full extent of the complex impact of the transport and energy infrastructure on the state and functioning of productive forces is manifested. A methodology for studying such impacts is proposed based on the evolutionary, structural, technical and economic approaches to the problem of recreating adequate mechanisms for managing the coordinated development of specialization industries and large infrastructures. Particular attention is paid to the complex model and methodological support for substantiating decisions on the development of the transport and electric power industries in the modern conditions of their reproduction. The collective monograph is the result of research on the corresponding topic of the Institute of Economics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences within the framework of the state assignment.
