The monograph describes the emerging market for paid domestic work in Slovakia. The book follows a situation that is unusual when hiring female domestic workers, unlike in most European countries, in Slovakia domestic workers are not predominantly migrant women, but almost exclusively women who have the citizenship and mostly the same nationality as the families that employ them.
