Konstantin Romanov, a grandson of Tsar Nicholas I of Russia, poet, playwright and patron of art, a devoted husband and father, but at the same time bisexual with strong homosexual tendenciesm, is mostly known in literature by his pen name "K.R." The peculiarities of Romanov's lyrics of "pure art" and the influence of the biographical and literary background (poetry by A.Fet, Y.Polonsky, and A.Maykov) upon it are closely studied in the work by E.Zavyalova.
