The monograph was based on field and laboratory research, as well as the results of pilot tests of environmental technologies. The influence of the geochemical features of the coal-bearing strata on the ecological situation is considered. The reasons for the formation of acidic mine waters and waste from dumps are characterized. The state of river systems is considered using GIS technologies and Earth remote sensing data. The characteristics of the chemical composition of waters and bottom sediments are given on the basis of long-term data. The concept of ecological rehabilitation of the territory under consideration, including the use of geochemical barriers, is proposed.
