The book is devoted to the history of the Persian Sassanid dynasty (227-651) during the reign of which pre-Muslim Iran was flourishing. It includes biographies of the Sassanid kings, unique numismatic material, information on the Iranian history and culture, Zoroastrianism as the official Iranian religion, comprehensive reference material, and detailed maps. The book is the continuation of the author’s books on the Eastern rulers the publication of which started in 1996 when the first book “Byzantine Emperors” was issued.
