Vasyl Symonenko (1935—1963) is a Ukrainian poet-sixtier and journalist.
The collection included his fairy tales, fables, poems, ballads, epigrams, dedications to friends, as well as short stories. The writer's name is primarily associated with poetic works. However, the small prose of the artist deserves no less attention. V. Symonenko skillfully constructs the plot of the novels, immerses himself in the psychology of the characters, and involves the reader in co-creation. This is, without a doubt, modernist prose, written in the light of the latest literary approaches.
