The book chronologically traces the work of Kamil Lhotak from the beginnings of his work in the 1930s until his death in 1990, and on 464 pages depicts two branches of his activity - graphic art and works on paper.
The graphic part describes and reproduces not only the complete free prints, but also a complete updated inventory of the New Year's cards and ex-libris that the artist made for his friends, including their dimensions, number of pieces, dates and other data. Kamil Lhotak's graphic work has its own separate and distinct story, which is documented in the descriptions of the circumstances of the creation of each work, along with their illustrations. The inventories of the works have been compiled on an absolutely unique scale with the contribution of several dozen collectors from 9 countries. In the section of works on paper, works in a very wide range appear, from watercolours, inks, pastels, ink drawings, collages to works in ordinary pencil, i.e. in all the techniques commonly used by Kamil Lhotak. Mostly free drawings are presented here, but we can also find works from Kamil Lhotak's diaries, illustrations for book publications and also a chapter devoted to his works prepared for magazines and other periodicals. At the same time, the works presented are mostly works that have not been published in the professional literature before, so this part of the book will also be revealing for the reader.
The book is published as a companion book to Kamil Lhotak - A Thousand Paintings. The two books complement each other; there is no overlap of images in the reproductions in both books.
