The issues of social and cultural originality of factory settlings in the Kama Region are considered in the monograph. By the example of two large industrial centers of Udmurtia (Votkinsk and Izhevsk factories), the author traces the peculiarities of management, town-planning, architectural images and the accomplishment of the mountain set up industrial centers. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the structure of the population, cultural environment, the typology of the factory inhabitants’ families, family life and demographic processes.
