On February 24, 2022, martial law was imposed on the territory of Ukraine due to the large-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
Formally, the introduction of martial law does not affect the judicial process. In particular, in accordance with Art. 26 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Legal Regime of Martial Law" shortening or speeding up any forms of judicial proceedings in the conditions of martial law is prohibited. At the same time, in practice, it is extremely difficult to ensure uninterrupted operation of the courts during the war.
