Jovan Hranilovic (1855-1924), a Greek Catholic priest, a poet literary and theater critic, the first president of the Yugoslav Journalist Association, presided over the Great People's Assembly in Novi Sad in November 1918 when the decision was made to join Backa, Baranja and Banat to the Kingdom of Serbia.
