A brief essay tells about the laying and construction of the church, its evolution, the activities of the clergy, ktitors and the church community. Particular attention is paid to those clergy and laity of the church activists who fell into the millstones of the godless repressive machine and suffered for their faith. The book contains a lot of previously unpublished materials that tell about the liturgical life and about the people who worked in the cathedral during the difficult atheistic years and took care of its magnificence. Photographs make it possible to fully compare the exterior and interior of the former and modern cathedral, to see the faces of the clergy who served in it and many other workers involved in cathedral life.
