Johan Laidoner (1884-1953) is one of the most prominent public and government figures in Estonia. He was a participant in the 1st World War and was awarded the Arms of St. George in 1915. After the February Revolution in Russia, Laidoner headed the Estonian division. K. Pats and J. Laidoner carried out a coup in 1934. On July 19, 1940 (before the official annexation of the state to the USSR) Laidoner was sent into exile in Penza. From this moment on, the author of the book begins to illuminate the difficult path of Johan and his wife Maria, who followed him. The book contains original documents, interrogation protocols, reports. Johan Laidoner died a week after Stalin's death.
