The current edition contains all the poet's preserved poems, as well as his two most famous plays. Ivan Peychev (1916-1976) is among our most unique and original poets. Critics mechanically attribute him to the literature of the 1940s and 1950s, along with names such as Valeri Petrov, Dalchev and Alexander Gerov. However, his bright individuality and complete inadaptability in the world make him more related to the generation of artists of the 1920s and 1930s. At the same time, a whole galaxy of intellectuals from the 1980s exalted him as their idol and fueled the myth of his apocryphal bohemian poetry. His spiritual depth and the fateful experience of the poetic act predetermine the unfading modernity of his poems even today. And the fact that most of his works were published only a few decades after his death gives rise to the legend that his poetry is truly immortal.
