Pavlo Zahrebelnyi (1924–2009) is a Ukrainian writer, screenwriter, Hero of Ukraine, laureate of the Shevchenko Prize. The action of his novel "Iulia, or Invitation to Suicide" takes place in Tashkent during the Great War. Roman fell in love with Iulia, she is his Juliet, the woman of his destiny. She seems to have died of typhus, or simply disappeared, but he has been looking for her all his life. "Junk" is one of the last works of the master.
