In the monograph by O. Mihailiyk and I. Kitchiy under study is the history of Lutsk, one of the oldest cities of Ukraine - it was mentioned in the chronicles more than 900 years ago. The history of the city has been traced through all stages of its development - from the times of Kievan Rus, through the period of the annexation of Lutsk first by Russian Empire and then by Poland and up to the present times when the city has become one of the leading industrial and cultural centers of Ukraine.
