I.S. Shemanovsky (after entering the ministry - Father Irinarkh) was the leader of the Obdorsk Mission, who made an immense contribution to the spiritual life of the Yamalo-Nenets Krai. Shemanovsky carried out educating activities among the local Obdrosk population in the course of 10 years, conducted historical research, and wrote outlines in regional ethnography. The book consists of three parts: "Diary of Obdorsk Missionary", "In the Wilds of the Far North-West of Siberia" and "Chronological Review of the Memorable Events in the Berezovsk Krai of the Tobolsk Province".
