This is a special selection of interviews with Yordan Radichkov, arguably the most significant voice of Bulgarian literature in the last third of the 20th century. The interviews span more than three decades from the early 1960s until the mid-1990s. Here, one of the most translated Bulgarian writers speaks about his childhood, his family, his fantastic, almost unreal early memories, and also about folklore, theatre, literature, and the Bulgarian soul. Just to give you a taste of what you'll find in the book: "You have to be convinced," Radichkov says, "that you possess enormous power and energy, that you can put the whole world in the palm of your hand and squeeze it just like that, until it drips. The longer you preserve this madness, this optimism and enormous faith, the longer you will preserve yourself."
