The two-volume publications is the first exhausting publication dedicated to the work of Ilja Zeljenka, a key figure of postwar Slovak musical avant-garde, as well as a major author of film music. Ilja Zeljenka's two-part portrayal consists of a set of author's testimonies that he gave in numerous interviews during his life, as well as the concentration of his author's texts, many of which originate here for the first time (such as My utopias, How to write music). This publication is complemented by the most extensive edition of Zeljenka's poetic and prose works as well as an extensive list of his work. The editor of the publication is fellow composer Vladimir Godar, who is also the author of the most extensive interview with Ilja Zeljenka.
