The monograph is devoted to a thorough study of separatism and the international political mechanisms of counteraction to this phenomenon in European countries. In the work of As. O.V. Sharan: the role of global and regional organizations in the development of international cooperation in the fight against separatism was investigated; the Western European, Balkan and Eastern European types of separatism are substantiated; the international political mechanisms of countering separatism are singled out and their typology is proposed; the essence of national mechanisms for countering separatism is characterized; the prospects for the use of international political mechanisms for countering separatism are outlined.
