The research highlights one of the most pressing and insufficiently studied issues in Russian historiography. Having compared data on the Yenisey group of intelligentsia with all-Russian showing, the author considers quantity of the pre-revolutionary intelligentsia in the region, and reveals forms and methods of its social activities.
