The book is dedicated to culture of the “thaw” period – the period of Soviet history from Stalin’s death to the 1970s. The author of the research tries to analyze a dialectic connection between Stalin culture and cultural “thaw”. Despite outer changes in culture and politics many core metaphors, which determine basic narrative models of the thaw period, remained the same as in Stalin culture: a “positive hero”, “family”, “war”. Basing on literary works and movies of the thaw period the author studies the way writers and film directors re-interpreted basic tropes of Stalin culture.
