The Turkish independence march, the last stage of which started with the Great Offensive, bore fruit, and the enemy's combat power received a heavy blow in Dumlupinar. With the Battle of the Commander-in-Chief, one-third of the Greek Army of Asia Minor was out of the war, but the remaining forces have the potential to go on the defensive, for example on the Milne Line, and block the way to Izmir.
