The purpose of this book through postcards, labels and a host of other antiques related to the history of the Crimean viticulture and winemaking, is to show how this industry developed "on the banks of Tauris." Most of the photographs, price lists, vintage bottle labels, etc. presented here are in private collections. Many of them have survived to our time in single copies and have never been published before. This rare collection material is accompanied by information taken from ancient and modern guidebooks, from scholarly and reference literature.
