This edition is about the highest award in the Republic of Latvia - the Order of the Three Stars: its foundation, history and recipients. Since its establishment on March 25, 1924 it was the first and highest civil order in Latvia and until now it has been the only state award in the renewed Republic. When Latvia lost its independence in 1940, the Order of the Three Stars was sent into oblivion. To preserve with honor the names of the awarded people for generations to come this book was published. The textual material of the work is supplemented with the copies of important historic documents and other evidences.
