In the second half of the 19th century. everyday life of the educated classes of Europe was subject to the same social norms, standards and practices, i.e. conventions that were developed by a select society (beaumond). Despite the provincial, semi-rural character of the cities and towns, under the influence of ideas and carriers of Western cultural practices, all the attributes for the development of the public life of Beaumond appeared in Bukovina: theater, philharmonic, casino, salons, restaurants, coffee shops, parks, various cultural and educational societies, social receptions, balls and horse races. In these institutions, forms, spaces, the old and new elites secretly competed for dominance in the hierarchy of secular society and social life in general.
