The book is the product of Ivan Granitski's longtime contribution to Bulgarian literary criticism, his observations and analyses of the work of the country's most outstanding poets of the above period as well as his favorite ones. Readers may detect some stylistic variations in Granitski's writings, but it should be noted that the assessments and the conclusions he made a long time ago have not only retained their relevance but have been clearly confirmed with time. Granitski knows or knew personally most of the poets he writes about, and some of them are/were his friends or colleagues, so he refers to them as people close to him who have traveled the same path in literature as he has.
