The book is dedicated to the life and work of a well-known breeder, the first female academician of the All-Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Altai, who for many years headed the Institute of Horticulture of Siberia named after M.A. Lisavenko, Ida Pavlovna Kalinina. She devoted her whole long life to the development of horticulture in Siberia. Ida Pavlovna was elected four times as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1970-1989), was a member of the Soviet Women's Committee (1983-1990), a member of the Peace Defense Council (1984-1990), chairman of the Altai Territory Peace Committee (1970-1990).
