The novel about one of the world's most important scientists of the first half of the XXth century, Slovak and Swiss citizen Aurel Stodol. He was a professor at one of the most advanced technological universities in the world – ETH Zurich (he became its youngest professor in its history up to that point). Stodola was affected by tragic fires, national oppression, family tragedies, survived two wars and spent half of his life abroad. Fighting adversity and especially his own weaknesses was his daily bread. He never gave up. He did not give up under any circumstances, even though there seemed to be no solution, he kept moving forward, even when there seemed to be nowhere left. A personal friend of Albert Einstein, Albert Schweitzer and other giants of world science and art, he was the result of will and discipline. Strict discipline and creativity were the basic anchoring of his life. Albert Einstein described him as a noble man with an unquenchable desire for knowledge and creation. University of Zurich professor Josette Baer stated: "We Swiss are also proud of Slovak Stodola."
