The story of Arnost Rosin is undoubtedly interesting and full of tension. Even before the war he lived like any young Jewish boy. He too wanted to fulfill his dreams and desires that had been associated with Palestine. He worked during the day and studied in the evenings, preparing for the Promised Land. Perhaps he would have done so, had it not been for the darned Jewish policy advocated by the then Slovak government. The young Rosin met the fate of tens of thousands of others: a concentration camp in Zilina and transport to Poland. This, unlike Slovakia, was occupied by German troops. Its final station was Auschwitz.
