The then opposition political parties did not have the slightest chance of defeating Meciar's HZDS party. The author, who was a direct participant in the political games of that time, describes the events that led to the formation of a strong anti-Meciar bloc named the Slovak Democratic Coalition (SDK). The book is a testimony of how it managed to reverse the fate of the country and direct it back to Europe. Slovakia has democratically defeated the power that has attempted to build a regime that is now labeled as non-liberal democracy. This makes this story even informative and inspirational for the present.
