The book tells how, in the early 90s, a team of reformers saved Russia from the real threat of chaos and collapse, creating the foundations of a market economy in a historically short period of time. As an active participant in the events, the author dispels the myths about those times, called in recent years the “damned nineties.” He shows that many decisions were dictated by the very situation of the collapse of the economy at the end of the USSR and the collapse of the state machine. Nechaev Andrey Alekseevich is a Doctor of Economic Sciences, the first Minister of Economics in the history of new Russia (1992-1993), one of the key figures in the government of reformers of the early 90s.
