Sociologist Olga Gyarfasova spoke with ten women who were part of the alternative opposition community during the years of normalization in Bratislava. Through their stories, they give us a glimpse into the world in which State Security sought to gain control over their lives. They explain how they resisted the political regime, what role the network of family, friends and more distant relationships played for them, but also space for themselves. In their memoirs, they open the topics of emigration, family, preparation of samizdat, imprisonment, interrogation, community of close people, personal freedom, etc.
