The second part of the book "Motherland" tells about the history of Belarus in the 19th century. Our region was then forcibly captured by the Russian Empire. It used the human and natural resources of the Belarusian land, and in return only increased oppression. Belarusians were not considered an independent nation, but a part of the "All-Russian tribe". But the struggle for the revival of their state never stopped. Secret patriotic societies were active all over the country. The best people of our land with weapons in their hands stood up against the oppressors in 1831. In 1863, the ancestors rose again for freedom. In the ranks of the rebels, led by Kastus Kalinowski, there were already many who fought not for the restoration of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Commonwealth of Nations, but for their future state. The slogan of the people of Kolin were the words: "Who do you love? - I love Belarus!". Since then, the idea of Belarusian independence has not disappeared and finally led to a national revival. Among the heroes of the book are rebel commanders Emilia Pliater and Michal Valovich, Valer Urublewski and Zygmunt Serakovsky, writers Adam Mickiewicz and Jan Barshchewski, scientists Martin Pachobut-Olyanitski and Ignat Domeyka, volunteer Ignat Hryniawicki. The book tells an interesting and detailed story about our national hero Kastus Kalinowski.
