This book is about the army, which among its kind in Europe resisted totalitarian states for the longest time in the largest spaces. The UPA symbolically counted down from October 14, 1942, organized and acted until the arrest of the main commander Vasyl Kuk in May 1954, individual fighters fought until April 1960, and some hid until Ukraine gained independence. The rebel song "We were born in a great hour" became the march of the new Ukrainian army, which has been fighting against the Russian aggressor since 2014.
