The conference was dedicated to Dmitry Sergeyevich Likhachov (28 November [O.S. 15 November] 1906 – 30 September 1999) who was a famous Russian medievalist, linguist, and a former labor camp prisoner. The articles of the collection tell about the Solovki of the late 1920s - early 1930s, the prisoners of that period - Likhachov's cellmates; contain new studies of the life path and creative heritage of this outstanding scientist and public figure.
