The edition focuses on the emergence and development of market institutions in Russia, starting from the XVIII century, and on the special role of the state in these processes, and the specifics of the Russian industrial revolution. Conceptual approach to the presentation of the history of the Russian economy in the XXth century is based on the relationship of institutional innovation and development in the economic sphere. This allows to analyze the deformation of economy in 1930s and postwar economic reforms, to address the causes, course and consequences of the crisis of the model of industrial development of the USSR in 1970-1980-s.
