The monograph examines the regulatory framework and law enforcement practice of pre-trial proceedings in Belarusian lands from the 9th to the end of the 20th century. Based on the analysis of regulations, official documents and archival criminal cases, the formation and development of criminal procedural institutions, problems of their regulatory regulation and application practice are studied. The influence of the provisions of regulations and law enforcement activities of previous centuries on modern Belarusian pre-trial criminal proceedings is traced.
