For the first time, the principal stages of history of Komi Science Center are distinguished in the offered research. The author elucidates organizational growth of the institution and foundation of institutes, probes into staff policy and postgraduate activities in the center, and, finally, demonstrates dependence of the development of its scientific and organizational basis from the major lines of scientific research.
